<p>Hi.</p>
<p>In March 2010 my very close friend was given some news that has dramatically changed both his and his family's life forever. He was diagnosed with Chronic Myloid Leukaemia (CML).</p>
<p>However, in typical form he has gritted his teeth and fought through the hard part with support from his family and friends.</p>
<p>Now we'd like to give something back to Ward 33 at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Their support, reassurance, professionalism and knowledge has helped the road to recovery ten fold.</p>
<p>So, on May 20th 2011 I will be stepping into a boxing ring to fight in a fully licensed and refereed fight. It will be 3 x 2 minute rounds, using 16oz gloves, head guards, mouth guards & groin protectors in front of a crowd of approximately 200 people. The event is taking place at the Village Hotel and I'm scared!! Boxing is a new sport to me which I have become passionate about..</p>
