Story

YORKSHIRE 3 PEAKS

In memory of Cpl Simon Beadel and supporting Help for Heroes

Saturday 03 November 2012

Thank you for taking the time to read this page. This is the first part of our 1085 mile journey we are going to embark on in memory of Cpl Simon Beadel.

Cpl Simon Beadel was regrettably taken from us on 06 January 2009 at the age of just 25.  Since his death his mum and dad (Sue and Chris) have gone above and beyond to raise money in his name, while helping others.  The Summer of 2013 will see the third and final Summer Ball being organised.  To mark the occasion, many of Si’s friends are organising individual events that will collectively cover a distance of 1,085 miles; the same distance between Gibraltar (Si’s birth place) and Highworth, Wiltshire where he was laid to rest.

On Saturday 03 November 2012, two of his friends Jason and Andrew will tackle the Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, also known as the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, covering a distance of over 26 miles with nearly 1,600m of ascent and descent.  A challenge for many is to complete in under 12 hours;

we are aiming for just 6 hours!!!

All donations will be greatly appreciated, helping service men and women who like Si, often go above and beyond the call of duty.
