Lindsey Lodge Hospice offers specialist care for people in the North Lincolnshire area living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer or multiple sclerosis. Patients and their loved ones benefit from the care that we provide free of charge because of generous people like you. Thank you.

Story

After our 2020 expedition was cut short due to the world closing down due to COVID19 we are heading back to complete the challenge! Team Carpe Diem is still raising money for the Lindsey Lodge Hospice by undertaking a challenging polar trek. We are asking for pledges ALL of which will go towards the wonderful work the hospice do. The trip itself is wholly self-funded out of our own pockets.

Team Carpe Diem comprises of Andy Lindsley, Stew Birkitt and Trev Zimmerman.

On Thursday 10th March 2021 to Tuesday 15th March 2022 we are going to be in Norway and taking on a severe polar skills challenge on the Hardangervidda plateau in Norway.

It will consist of tough conditions and inclement weather to test our abilities, which will involve challenging snow trekking under winter conditions and two nights spent out in winter tents. Temperatures can reach -25C.

All of our equipment will be pulled behind us on pulks and we will be walking in snowshoes or using skis. We will be developing winter navigation and snow and avalanche skills.

We have begun training and any pledges will spur us onto even greater efforts. Please consider sponsoring us generously if you are able to. Every little helps.

Thank you.

Andy, Stew and Trev.
