Update 14th June
Did it. Finished on schedule on the 7th June. 1049 miles from Lands End to John O Groats by my route, plus another 39 miles from Lizard point. An amazing ride with sunny weather on all but one and a bit days. Some tough hills to climb, but nothing too bad (in hindsight of course). My luck was so good that I finished with the same air in my tyres that I set off with. Plenty of midgy bites on my legs but plenty of new muscles too. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me and to all the generous and interesting people I met on the way who made it well worthwhile and very memorable. I hope all you other LEJOGers or JOGLErs made it to the finish line with the same energy as you had when I met you.
Now at a bit of a loose end.........
cheers

On the 23rd May I'll be setting off to cycle solo from Lands End to John O Groats with a tent and a few essentials.
I'll be raising money for the charity Childrens Chronic Arthritis Association, an organisation which benefits children suffering from Juvenile Arthritis (JIA) and their families. Your donation will create educational and recreational opportunities for children living with this painful disease and provide help and advice to the families affected by it. Please give what you can to this worthwhile cause.
The route is loosely based on a CTC route although I will be mainly using quiet, and hilly, minor roads so won't be breaking any records. I'll be travelling up through the western counties of England and veering off further west on a less direct route when I reach Scotland. Via the Isle of Arran I'll be following the coast up as far as Fort William before heading through the Great Glen along Loch Ness to Inverness. From there it's straight up to the north coast and then east to John O Groats. With possibly enough time for a couple of scenic (distillery?) detours in Scotland, I aim to cover about 1100 miles and should finish on the 7th June. I've managed to blag the help of mum & dad who will be meeting me somewhere in Scotland with some fresh kit and hopefully the offer of a lift back at the end.
For those who are interested, afterwards I'll upload some evidence that I did it (or come up with a good excuse why I didn't).
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
