“Andy Stephenson's fundraising”

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

On Saturday 13th February at 7am, Ali and I will be blindfolded and bundled into a minibus and driven 4.5 hours away from Durham to an unknown location, most probably at the side of remote road, as part of DUCK's LOST Event 2010.

We will then have to establish where we are and then try and get back to Durham as soon as possible, without paying for any transport. If we are the first people back to Durham from the 50 or so entrants, we win £200. If we win, I am pledging to donate my share of the winnings to whatever other donations have come in, so please dig deep and help out.

To make things a little harder, we won't be using any of the wondrous features of my iPhone!

Chosen Charity - The Princes Trust

I've decided to donate all monies raised to The Princes Trust, which helps people from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop the skills they need to set up and run their own businesses. I've always been lucky in that I have been able to set up and run any ventures I've wanted to but others aren't quite so fortunate.

Where your money goes

- £10 can cover the cost of giving advice to five people calling the Princes Trust helpline.

- £25 can help train a mentor to support someone who wants to set up their own business.

- £200 can pay for the clothes and equipment needed for an unemployed person to train as a chef.

Ali and I are hoping to dress up as Batman and Robin to aid our blagging power on the roads and railways of Great Britain, so if you see us at some point, please feel fere to honk at us (because we will probably look stupid) or even better, give us a lift towards Durham!
