Story
Hi. Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page. My name is Andy Toyne I am 51 years old, i'm married to Joanne (Toyne) who is also riding with me. We have 5 children. It has been one of my ambitions to cycle from Lands’ End to John O’Groats for many years, but we have always had other commitments (or excuses), things like family holidays; we could never find the time or the money to make it happen. When I turned 49 I got a chest infection (my reward for stopping smoking). I started cycling again to get some exercise, as my chest recovered I realised my chest was never going to fully recover and I was getting older, if I was going to ride from Lands’ End to John O’Groats it had to be now.
I started reading about other people’s rides and routes, then what seemed like endless hours of planning my route, trying to find campsites at the right distances, re-planning routes to get to campsites. Looking for tents and all the other bits and pieces you don’t think of.
All the planning is in place now, we will be leaving Lands End at 9 am on Sunday 31 August 2014, we hope to cover 1035 miles in 17 days.

Thanks for your support.
