The Charity helps to fund a variety of projects to help improve patient care and services including improved facilities for patients and families; innovative technology; and research. It also supports staff with enhanced training to ensure they remain at the centre of clinical developments.

Story

Thanks to the support of Fletchers solicitors, a group of 7 (including Nick Fletcher, one of the neurologists at Walton)  are cycling 987 kilometres across France and up a very steep hill (a mountain called Ventoux) at the end to raise money for the Home from Home appeal.

As a specialist neuroscience hospital we look after a lot of people with severe brain and spine injuries and diseases.  Many of these people travel a long way to come to us.  The aim of the appeal is to raise money to build a 'Home from Home' for relatives of these patients.

I have done olympic distance triathlons (1.5Km swim, 40Km bike, 10Km run), but have never cycled this far! My previous maximun being 80 Km!  I am in training, but currently a little worried as 987 kilometers (613 miles) seems a long way in 6 days.

I am hoping to raise £3,000 for this worthwhile cause. Any donation will be gratefully received.
