<p><span style="mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Having finally secured a place after several attempts to run 26.2 miles around London's streets in the 2012 Marathon, I have decided that all my hard efforts should not be lost on just myself and the satisfaction of crossing that finish line. I have selected therefore to run for Coram to try and do some good.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Coram has been creating better chances for children for over 270 years. To this day, their mission has remained focused to develop, deliver and promote best practice in the care of vulnerable children, young people and their families, building resilience and enabling them to take responsibility for their lives and fulfil their potential.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Established as the Foundling Hospital by philanthropist Thomas Coram in Bloomsbury, homes were offered for abandoned children dying on London streets. The world has of course since changed, however too many children are still alone and at risk, marginalised at school or without a safe place they can call home.</span></span></span></p>
