Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running in the Tough Guy Challenge for my Grandma who was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer early in 2011 and recently died on the 20th December 2012. She consequently underwent an operation to remove her ovaries and then a series of chemotherapy sessions. However, these sessions were not having an effect on the cancer and she became increasingly ill which put a strain on the whole family. For her last 4/5 months she went downhill rapidly and had a further operation and two visits to LOROS and she passed away in LOROS with her family around her. My aim was to train towards something very much out of my comfort zone, to put myself through the pain she experienced when fighting cancer and to make her proud of me while doing so. All of the money recieved will go straight to Cancer Research UK so that people and their families will hopefully never have to endure the pain that we went through.
