VSO Everest Base Camp Expedition August 2012 · 1 August 2012 ·

VSO is an international development organisation that brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday, VSO volunteers are working to empower people living in some of the world’s most marginalised communities.

Story

In August I will be undertaking an incredible 21 day trip to Nepal and completing the trek up to Everest Base Camp which sits at a staggering 5364m. But rather than pay to go and do it myself as a holiday, I was presented with the opportunity to make money count and do the trek as a fundraising trip with VSO to raise money for people in Nepal who don't have the privileges we take for granted each day.

The amount looks like it's alot on paper, but in reality, it's less than the difference in quality it can make to someone's life, because that can't be measured. I'm not asking you to break the bank and donate hundreds of pounds, just the few you can afford.

Please give what you can, it all helps and it can make a difference.
