Story

Dear all,

It's that time of year again when I like to do my little bit for a worthwhile cause and take on a worthy challenge. Following the success of my London to Paris bike ride last year, this year i've decided to go a bit further, and i'll be cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats!!

The ride begins at the start of September taking 12 days - averaging nearly 85miles a day. It's going to be quite a challenge, having done most of my training on the flat roads of Essex & London, I cant say that i'm looking forward to all of the hills!

I've put a brief list of the route I will be taking and the daily distances below.

Day 1 - Lands End - Liskeard 73 miles

Day 2 - Liskeard - Sampford Peverell 72 miles

Day 3 - Sampford Peverell - Tintern 87 miles

Day 4 - Tintern - Shrewsbury 89 miles

Day 5 - Shrewsbury - Preston 78 miles

Day 6 - Preston - Carlisle 93 miles

Day 7 - Carlisle - Kilmarnock 97 miles

Day 8 - Kilmarnock - Inveraray 78 miles

Day 9 - Inveraray - Invergarry 96 miles

Day 10 - Invergarry - Bonar Bridge 76 miles

Day 11 - Bonar Bridge - Bettyhill 55 miles

Day 12 - Bettyhill - John O'Groats 51 miles

........................Thats a grand total of nearly 900 miles!!! (assuming i dont get lost)...Ouch?!

I have chosen to support a Cancer related charity as it's something that can affect anybody at anytime, and i'm undertaking this challenge for very personal reasons. I would ask you to please give generously to this very worthwhile cause, and feel free to forward this note on to anyone else who you think may be interested in sponsoring me.

Donations can be made either directly online via the following link http://www.justgiving.com/andywick or I can complete the usual sponsorship form on your behalf.

Many thanks in advance

Andy
