The #1000BreadChallenge


I will be taking part in the #1000BreadChallenge with the established charity SKT Welfare. The charity has established a bakery in Syria to which it supplies flour, fuel and maintenance. The bakery distributes bread - free of charge - to hundreds of families within 7 local refugee camps on a daily basis. Since it began this particular project has benefited 243,100 people; a phenomenal achievement.

The charity purchases the flour and other ingredients required to make bread - including yeast and salt – and a tonne of flour produces roughly 1000 packs of bread; each pack containing 10 loaves. An individual would typically consume about 2 loaves per meal, so a single pack would suffice the average Syrian family for one meal.

This month, I want to sponsor at least 1000 packs of bread and help support the bakery. For as little as £7 you can sponsor 10 packs of bread! The difference this will make to Syrian lives will be immeasurable.
