LAM Action is a charity raising money for research into LAM (or, to give it its full name, Lymphangioleiomyomatosis) is a little understood genetic disorder which affect women only, and generally diagnosed in women of childbearing age. The condition affects the lungs, where it causes excessive growth of smooth muscle tissue which progressively erodes lung function. Currently there is no cure for LAM and very little in the way of treatment. Survival is in the way of a full or part lung transplant.

All systems go, will run for LAM Action in London Marathon 2010.
Will aim to beat my previous target of 4:30 by 45minutes. The challenge is to equal or better 3:45hr. Every minute I am under the target time will also donate £5.

Race day has come and gone with the weather staying mainly cool 2/3 of the way. Missed my target by 16mins @ 4:01hr so not that impressed, but ended up running along side Dave M. some of the way, am sure he set a brilliant time. All in all an experience I take away with a medal at the finish and improve on for future.
