The CGEF brings hope of a better future through its secondary/high school sponsorship scheme. Around 350 able girls living in poor economic circumstances in 30 Commonwealth countries benefit annually. Funding for fees, uniforms, transport etc. goes directly to the girls' schools. www.cgefund.org

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, where we are raising money for the Commonwealth Countries League Education Fund.

What the CCLEF do

The CCL’s charitable arm is the CCL Education Fund which sponsors bright, needy girls to give them equal opportunities for secondary/high school education in their own countries. Over 3,000 girls from challenging backgrounds have been supported in this way. Their progress is closely monitored and their success stories are heart- warming. The philosophy behind the CCL’s work is that educated girls with a highly- developed sense of responsibility are more likely to provide a better future for themselves as well as for their communities. Sponsorship has enabled these girls to enter many professions. The scheme enables girls, who have academic potential but whose parents or guardians cannot support them financially, to continue their secondary education in their own Commonwealth country. Even where secondary education is free, help may be needed to provide things that many of us would take for granted such as school uniforms, writing materials, transport costs, tuition and examination fees and incidental expenses.

Mission of the CCLEF

·         To sponsor girls of ability through secondary school when they would otherwise not be able to continue

·         To give them a sense of their own worth and value

·         Pay for the special training for girl of secondary school age with physical disabilities

·         To enable them to act as ambassadors for female education

Crown Lawn’s involvement

Crown Lawn understands the value of education, particularly for young women who would stand to lose its benefits for financial reasons. Crown Lawn aims to assist those young women who show promise and dedication but would otherwise never be able to experience the rewards of an education. With this help, these young girls can become valued members of their society and many will give back, helping others the same way that they were helped. Angela Walker, managing director of Crown Lawn, is dedicated to helping these girls achieve their dreams. Angela and her colleagues run the British 10k annually to support the charity and Angela alone has raised over £10,000 for the cause. Despite busy schedules, and some nagging injuries, the Crown Lawn team continues to be motivated to run in support of this worthy charity.

Donating is a simple process and every little bit helps. Everyone at Crown Lawn knows that whatever can be done to help these determined young women to achieve their dreams is of the utmost importance. Perhaps, in the UK, we are lucky enough to take education for granted but we must never forget those who do not have the same advantages.

So please dig deep and donate now!
