My story

Some of you will know that, since living in Ipswich, I've been involved with the work of the Iceni Project. They aim to treat folk who have substance dependencies so that they can get clean. They have a great success rate, and help many of their clients to kick life threatening habits.

Projects like Iceni always need to keep a close eye on their funds, and particularly since the credit crunch. So... here's where I (and you, please) come in. Back in September I started swimming (not splashing around!) for the first time in about 20 years. 50 metres was about all I could manage in one go... but I started to improve.

I'm aiming to swim 20 miles in the 40 days of Lent - that's a staggering 1280 lengths of the pool in Ipswich. It's going to make me ache, it'll certainly mean that I "give up" anything like laying in bed in the mornings, but I may just achieve it...

Can you help by sponsoring me  please? I don't mind if it's by the mile or a total amount, just so long as the money gets to the people who need it most. Thanks for reading this.
