Story
I am going to cycle 970 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats, starting on May 24th. I am hoping to do this in about 12 days. I will be accompanied by my great friend Steph Revelle and we will have back up from my husband Steve and Steph’s partner Jonny Lynch, also my very good friends Dave and Judy Haynes. I am doing this in memory of my brother-in-law Malcolm who died last year of a brain tumour and also for everyone else who has been affected by this terrible disease.
In the UK more children and adults under 40 die of a brain tumour than any other cancer. Brain tumours kill more women than cervical cancer and more men under 45 than prostate or any other cancer, according to figures from Brain Tumour Research. Forty percent are primary tumours originating in the brain, the remainder are secondary. They can affect anyone and cannot be prevented because their cause is unknown.
The mission for Brain Tumour Research is to raise at least £7 million a year to accelerate progress significantly in brain tumour research in the UK in order to make a clinical difference and to improve the outcome for brain tumour patients.
I’d like to raise at least £5,000 to contribute to the charity and hopefully with your help Brain Tumour Research will be given an opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives.
We would really appreciate your support. Thanks, Angie & Steph
