Story
As part of continued support of Build Africa from Euroclear, I will be going to Uganda in June.
As usual we'll be taking out lots of materials to the schools and communities that we're supporting in Uganda as part of our June field trip.
Why do we take materials out when we could perhaps buy them in Uganda or send them? The answer to that question is pretty simple - it's actually quite a lot more expensive to buy things like sports materials in Uganda and we are in a very remote area, which means that the choice of shops is limited. Unfortunately, sending material is also inadvisable as hardly any of it would reach its final destination.
Also, we feel that many of you who have children or belong to sports clubs are more than happy to know that books which are no longer used or sports equipment that you no longer need is going to a good home.
Believe me, the response to the materials that we have taken out previously has been overwhelming. Last year we took jigsaws to one of the schools and soon realized that none of the adults had ever seen a jigsaw puzzle before! They had as much fun putting the pieces together as the children.
The same goes for the sports equipment - many children have never had any kind of sports materials to play with before, often playing football with a bundle of rags, so you can be sure that your donations will be much appreciated.
This time we're going to take out a mix of materials
Tennis balls
Footballs or
small balls
Badminton kits
Volleyballs
Pens
Pencils
Notebooks
Rulers
Educational games
If anyone would like to donate any of the above equipment then please contact me directly.
Otherwise, if you would like to give money so that we can buy new equipment to take, please donate here.
