Story
It's that time of year again and I can hardly believe that I've somehow been roped into doing the Great North Run again.
I'm not built for running, every mile of this event hurts and the last 3 are extra specially evil. I blame the crowd for dragging me back. It's not often that a crap runner gets to feel like an athelete and a hero and its even rarer to be handed a half pint of beer in the final few meters.
If it wasn't for the first 13 miles this would be my favourite way to spend a Sunday.
I'm running for the beer and chips at the end. I've been visualising that wonder throughout my training runs and I think it will get me over the finish line.
Your donation will get me to the start line.
This year I'm raising money for the Sutton and Croydon Samaritans Branch. Each branch of the Samaritans have to individually raise money to cover their running costs. They have an ongoing fund raising struggle and I'd appreciate your help in easing that burden.
Thanks.
