As most of you will remember myself along with family & friends held a 13 mile sponsored walk last November in memory of my late husband Angelo Mertakkas who tragicaly lost his life to cancer in August 2008. The monies raised was donated to Fair Havens Hospice who helped us through the last stages of Angelo's illness.

Angelo was an amazing Intelligent young man who touched so  many lives, he was generous, caring, loving, hard working and thoughtful who enjoyed life to the full!. Angelo had a great sense of humor, he loved to make people laugh and have fun. He made such an impact on  our lives that he will never be forgotton. He lives on in our memories and in our hearts...

This year I am planning the same sponsored walk again on the 21st November, and proceeds will go direct to Fairhavens Hospice...

A little bit about Fair Havens charity:

Fair Havens Hospice provides respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care for adults living with serious conditions and illnesses such as cancer. It aims to make their journey - and that of the family - as comfortable as possible, creating special memories along the way. The love and care provided by the Care Team in the homely surroundings at Fair Havens is as special and unique as the patient. This could not continue without kind donations as it costs £2.8 million each year to keep the hospice open.
