Story

Thanks for coming to my page!

So here's why you have to sponsor me.  On 24th of October, I'll be running 10 miles to raise money for this great charity.  Yes, I said RUNNING! For many people, that's not a big thing, but for me it's going to take a lot of early morning starts to fit the training in, a lot of heartache giving up my favourite sport at the moment (smoking), and a lot of motivation to shed the pounds....

If that's not enough to convince you to give a little (or a lot) to help me raise the funds then I'll tell you what convinced me to do it in the first place..

International Animal Rescue have been doing amazing work for many years to stop animals around the world from suffering.  Many of the animals in their care have lived through horrendous experiences and suffered great pain at the hands of humans.  The charity do everything they can to rehabilitate the animals and whenever they can they release them back into the wild.  Sometimes the suffering has been too great and the animals will simply never be able to look after themselves in the wild again.   Many of the former dancing bears in their sancturies in Agra have had their teeth and claws knocked off by their owners and have lived with humans since they were taken from their mothers as cubs.

International Animal Rescue are committed to looking after these animals in their sancturies for the rest of their lives, to educating the public and to negotiating solutions with governments so that such cruelty becomes a thing of the past.  Although they have achieved so much they still desperately need the funds to continue their great work.

You'd have to have a heart of stone not to donate now!

Thanks!

About the charity

We not only save animals from suffering, we also rehabilitate and release them back into the wild, whilst working to protect their habitats. We provide a safe haven for animals that can no longer fend for themselves. In all that we do, we work to find solutions that benefit both animals and people.
