Story
We're up for it....
We haven't done The Great Curry Run before and this is now the last one we can do as a family before Sarah and Rory leave St George's. So we have decided to do it altogether and we're hopefully going to complete the 24k run. This represents 10 metres for every service person killed or wounded in action in Afghanistan!!!
We have each been allocated the name of a soldier to run for. Here are their stories....
Gus is running for L/Cpl Kyle Cleet Marshall of The Second Batallion The Parachute Regiment who died tragically after being caught up in aroadside bomb in the Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand province. He was 23 and from Newcastle upon Tyne
Sarah is running for Rifleman Mark Marshall, 29 and a PCSO with the Police Force in Exeter, who was also killed by a roadside bomb north east of Sangin. He was a member of 6th Batallion, the Rifles and was serving as a 'point man' with the 3 Rifles Battle Group.
Rory is running for L/Cpl Nicky Mason , a member of the 2nd Batallion, the Parachute Regiment who died while on a routine patrol near Kajaki in Helmand Province
Their families won't know that we are running for them and certainly won't be aware that you have very kindly made a small donation to the ABF in their memory.
Thank you very much for your donation for what is a very worthy cause. We hope you sleep well tonight!
