Container Challenge

Having been involved in the work that Smiles do in Romania for some time, I am very aware of the tremendous needs many families have and the great work that Smiles have been doing.

Last year on a visit to Romania I visited the village of Salard. There are families there living in appalling conditions that you would find hard to believe unless you saw them for yourself. You can see some of their homes in my photos.

It was then that the idea of converting a container into a home was thought of.

So now back in Scotland we have raised money bought a container and are trying to fill it with donated aid to take to and distribute in Romania.

The container can then be converted into a home, with a door and windows, insulation, a stove and beds being added.

It might not seem that great to us to live in such a place, but to those families living in cold damp cramped conditions that you can see in my photos, it is like a palace.
