Story

What an amazing day . I DID IT ....I ran the whole 26.2 miles , it was a gloriously sunny day . It was fun , hard , challenging inspiring and just great. At my first 2 mile mark I was following a male runner in just a blue thong, no all over tanning as far as I could see, then ran past Bagpuss and the wombles . At Tower Bridge it was just amazing so many people cheering , quite emotional really and it was close to half way .

Had a wobble at 17 miles, went through the wall and my Simon Pegg moment was realised but, got through that and then it just felt great to be on the last leg , I was just happy to keep running . I have my finishers medal and feel fantastic , thank you every one for all the encouragement and support before, during and after the race. The LEPRA charity really does appreciate all the funds raised as do I . Take a look at some of the photos , more to follow............ Brilliant X

Updated on Apr 16th 2012 at 10:41 PM from the JustGiving API

My last long run well, quite a short one as just an hour just done this Sunday - Marathon next Sunday so time to go easy on the legs this week Excited and nervous at the same time xx

Yesterday, 1st April, after to putting all the marathon tips into action , what to drink when, the joy of energy gels which taste disgusting and of course the 101 places to apply vaseline ( basically every where ) I set off and completed a 20 mile run and I cant believe I did it - my longest run to date ,it was glorious weather and I felt great when I made it back home to the usual ice cold bath ritual ( well my 2nd one ..gasp ) a chocolate shake and then sunday lunch . Today I have such sore legs , my gym session was all about getting my legs walking ...erm working , thank you all so far for sponsoring me and those that have some spare pennies they will be gratefully appreciated by the Lepra Charity XX

Sunday 25th March. My life is becoming a big running Fest . Less than 4 weeks to the London Marathon , ran 16.1 miles in 3.1 hours on Sunday which is my longest run so far . Really pleased as had not been able to run during the week due to a leg injury - mind you my legs are really sore yesterday and today even after trying 'the sit in an ice cold bath' to help your legs recover ( which by the way literally takes your breath away ) , I can't believe this is me ... the best advice I had yesterday was from a guy who has run three marathons a few years a go and that is " to walk down stairs backwards after a long run" , he 's right it's easier with sore legs .Less than 4 weeks to go now .....X

For all the non believers , I entered my first running race at three days notice - the Silverstone half marathon on Sunday 11th March. Really nervous but stayed with friends the night before who think Ive been cloned after eating a simple pasta meal with water ( what no vino) plus in bed by 9.30 pm ....rock n roll this isnt. I had a brilliant race , managed to run the whole 13.1 miles with out stopping , the race track had some sneaky hills in it too although I was worried earlier on when mickey mouse ran straight by me ...show off! What a fantastic feeling running over the finish line with a final time of 2:23:30 ....so happy and a medal too . X

Updated on Mar 3rd 2012 at 9:23 PM from the JustGiving API

Seven weeks to go ...now training 6 days a week ... Definitely out of my comfort zone - did 2 hour run last Sunday and just over 11 miles and a 2.5 hour run planned tomorrow , my poor legs are hurting X

Ok so as you all know I’m not a natural runner and in 14 weeks I’m going to be tackling the London Marathon. I know that right now you are all smiling at reading this and imagining me trying to run whilst drinking coffee and answering my phone!

I am in fact training alongside a personal trainer (Gary – who is exceptionally patient) and running toooo many miles!
