Well, I did it! And lived to tell the tale.

It has been an exhilarating event from start to finish. I was surrounded by family and friends, who saw me off and welcomed me back. My instructor, Jeff, made my jump safe and hugely enjoyable. It was over all too quickly, and I am still trying to digest all the emotions that were surging through me.

I am glad I did it and wanted to say that none of it would have been possible without many lovely people who helped  me with the jump: Ruth, thank you for doing all the legwork and making sure that afterwards we celebrated our achievement in style with champagne and strawberries; my fellow jumpers, whose company sustained my courage; and, of course, you, my wonderful supporters, who helped me raise a handsome amount for a very worthy cause, and kept cheering me up throughout - if it wasn't for you, I would have chickened out.

A huge, heart-felt thank-you to you all.
