On 20th September 2009 I will be running the BUPA Great North Run (13 miles) to raise money for Bolton Hospice.

Bolton Hospice is a modern, purpose-built unit with 14 beds plus extensive day care, outpatient and complementary therapy facilities.  The team at Bolton Hospice is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and the people close to them who face the problems associated with life-threatening disease.  This care is provided at the Hospice and also in the homes of patients who are in the final stages of life.
It currently costs £2.1 million per year to run the Hospice.  Just 35% of this amount is covered by an NHS Grant. This means that the remainder of the costs - some £1.2million - have to be raised through the generosity of individuals and businesses.  To find out more about Bolton Hospice please visit www.boltonhospice.org.uk.
