Story
Last week a great tragedy occurred at St Peter's hospital on Likoma Island, Malawi. Someone set fire to the hospital at 3am last Wednesday to create a diversion and then stole the safe containing the staff wages.
Large sections of the hospital buildings have been destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. Lots of equipment has been lost too. African Steps will now need to raise the funds to complete the building work and replace the equipment. There's such a great financial cost here, but the people of Likoma are also devastated, as there's practically no crime on the Island and this kind of thing is unheard of.
I want to help with this and so would be really grateful if you would sponsor me for doing my 24 hours silence. As you know, it will be quite a challenge for me to keep quiet for this long, especially as I have chosen to do it next week on a school day, haha!
