Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Your donations will fund their life-saving work and be a huge motivation to keep me swimming, cycling and running.

(All your money goes direct to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. It is not used to pay my entry fee to Virgin Active’s London Triathlon 2011).

Athough running 10km isn’t too hard (I can always walk), biking 40km isn’t hard either (I can tootle along and enjoy the sights of London), swimming 1500m in open water, with thousands of other swimmers thrashing and splashing, is actually causing me a few sleepless nights.

My inspirational swimming coach has already given me a few “how not to drown lessons” in the deep end of the swimming pool. I understand that the buoyancy of my wetsuit WILL keep me afloat! We’ll see!!!

I consider myself very fortunate that I am fit and healthy enough to even contemplate an event like this. I was admitted to A&E in April (a kidney stone, ouch!!!) that left me bed-ridden for a week (kidney infection, yuk!!) and poised for a comeback.

The silver lining was that my pulse rate was so low that the doctor asked if I were an athlete......ha ha!!!  I lost a few kg without even trying. I had a week off work to contemplate life, and hatch a few plans. All in all, not a bad experience.....

Thousands of women we know and love are not so lucky. The facts are that one in three of us will develop some form of cancer during our lifetime.

This event is a very daunting challenge for me – and your support is very important to me. Please donate a few pennies or pounds. I am part of the "TT Rookies" team http://www.ttrookies.co.uk/ and we are trying to meet our team objective of £20,000. Thank you!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep, or shallow, and donate now!
