On the 12th January (or as close to then as weather allows), I will set off from the Canaries in a rowing boat with 12 other people, heading for Barbados, 3000 miles away. We are aiming to break the current record of 33 days.

One of my friends was recently diagnosed with MS, and she is part of my inspiration for signing on to this challenge. The MS Society support and organise a broad range of activites, from funding basic research to supporting the families of those with the illness. All money donated goes straight to them.

I am very much looking forward to seeing everybody back on dry land! Thanks so much for all the words of encouragement so far.
