Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 6th May I'm running in my first marathon - the Milton Keynes marathon - and I'm hoping to raise some money for the Bletchley Park Trust.
Bletchley Park was the home of the code-breakers during WWII. The site of their fascinating work in codes, decryption and early computing. The top secret work of the code-breakers is thought to have shortened the war by around 2 years (saving countless lives). Despite thousands of people working there during the war, the work of Bletchley Park remained an absolute secret for decades afterwards.
After the site was rescued from developers in 1992, the Bletchley Park Trust was set up to preserve and develop it into a world class museum and heritage site.
I was really inspired by the many hard working and incredibly knowledgeable volunteers who give their time at Bletchley Park (I was especially impressed by the brilliant people who give the guided tours) and I really wanted to contribute something to support their efforts.
Bletchley Park is an incredibly interesting museum. As well as exhibitions on the history of the park and the work of the code-breakers, it's also home to many interesting historical collections and on the same site as the National Museum of Computing. If you get the chance you should definitely visit (or re-visit!), it's an amazing place.
