Hi Everyone!  Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Here's what it's all about...

I’m going to help build a secondary school for 450 children in Buikwe, a small town in Southern Uganda. 

Three times a year, 12 people are chosen from a list of volunteers, to go to Uganda for one week to help with the projects, and I’ve enrolled on the March 2010 venture. 

Ogilvy (the company I work for) has partnered with established charity International Needs, and have chosen to work with them in a part of the world where they have a strong nurturing presence. 

Eventually this project will have helped fund and build 12 classrooms, a kitchen, a dining hall, a library, 8 staff houses and dorms for the boys and girls, as well as providing the site with electricity, desks, textbooks and a large water tank, giving the children in Buikwe and surrounding areas the education every child deserves.   And everything’s going to be hands on!

Once the school in Buikwe is built, the charity will move onto other projects – building an orphanage, for example, boring wells, or even providing funding for new farm machinery.   There are endless ways this charity can go on to help the people in Buikwe, Uganda and countries much less fortunate than ours.  And that’s where you come in.  With your help we can make a huge difference to these people’s lives.
