My story

Despite what a quick glace at my surname may suggest, Paula Radcliffe is definitely not a relation and you'd have all the confirmation that you might need of this should you bump into me struggling around Clapham Common on a Saturday afternoon run. However, I've got some new trainers and I'm keen to prove that a silver medal for cross-country running aged 10 wasn't just a fluke so I'm giving the Bath Half a go.

Now, this is the bit when I ask for your cash………

Having been lucky enough to have done a good amount of travelling and volunteering abroad over the years I've witnessed the difference that NGO humanitarian agencies can make. In running the Bath Half I would love to be able to raise some money to assist with such work which is why I have chosen to support GOAL. GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the poorest of the poor. It is a non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political organisation and it operates in countries including Ethiopia, Honduras, India, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Sierra Leone, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Haiti and Pakistan. As an organisation it has responded to every major humanitarian disaster since 1977. Not only that but it also employs awesome people, my lovely friend Emma is GOAL's CFO in Uganda so if any of your pennies end up there she will be keeping a close eye on making sure that they are spent well.

If you are interested in finding out more about the great work that GOAL does do check out their website:

Whatever you can give, however small a donation, would be greatly appreciated. I may not have Paula on speed dial for motivational pep talks but getting anywhere near my target would certainly be very inspiring.

Many thanks,

Anna xxx
