Bupa Great Birmingham Run 2013 · 20 October 2013 ·

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m not a natural runner and never ask for sponsorship but there’s a good reason behind my decrease in hours spent in the pub and increase in those spent running (okay plodding/walking) up and down bloody big hills (thank you Wimbledon!!)

This time last year Kevin Paterson took part in the Great Birmingham Run. He completed the run but collapsed almost immediately and died. Our Mams have been friends since school and there’s a group of us doing this year’s Run in memory of Kev and to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

I’m doubling up and doing the Great North Run too and anything you can give would be very much appreciated.
