We want to see a North Wales richer in wildlife valued by all. We improve places for wildlife and strengthen the relationship between the people of North Wales and the local environment. Together, our supporters, members, staff and volunteers make a real difference for wildlife.

Story

We did it!! What a long and beautiful walk. Set off at 4.30am from our bivvi on Snowdon. Misty and damp along Crib Goch. Atmospheric descent down the North ridge into Cwm Glas. Then the longest, most tedious ascent of them all up Elidir Fawr. Y Garn followed easily and the clouds lifted on our way up Glyder Fawr at about midday. Glyder Fach, Castell y Gwynt and Tryfan provided a bit of entertaining scrambling before the challenging climb out of Ogwen valley to the top of Pen-yr-Ole-Wen. Legs feeling it now, but spirits still very high. Yr Elen, an annoying "detour" but what a stunning peak she is! Felt elated on top of Carnedd Llewelyn, the last big ascent, only to quickly wish the miles away to reach far away Foel Grach, Foel Fras and Garnedd Uchaf (Gwenllian). By far the hardest stretch even though it's almost flat. Walking back down to Bethesda (another 6 miles) was the mentally most challenging part with aching bodies and tired feet.

The team: Jessica, Alice and Dan (all fit teenagers) and parents James and myself.

Thank you all for your support and sponsorship, we are so grateful to all of you. It means a lot to us!!

There is still plenty of time to donate if you wish.

The challenge: I am planning to do the 14 peaks challenge in North Wales, walking 24 miles over the fourteen 3000ft peaks in Snowdonia in under 24 hours with my daughter, Jessica 17 years old. We are hoping to do this on the19th of June, weather permitting. We want to support the worthwhile activities of our local North Wales Wildlife Trust, a charity that is enagaged in nature conservation in North Wales. So please think globally, act locally!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
