Hi Everyone,

As some of you may already know, I have been doing some voluntary physio work at a great charity called the Neuromuscular Centre(nmc) Here, young  and older adults with Muscular Dystrophy can access regular phsio treatment to help maintain and enhace their physical well being . As well as physio the centre also provides computer training in graphic design and runs a design and print business. Staffed and run by Muscular Dystrophy Sufferers it also offers patients unique employment opportunities. It  truly is a very special place.

Some of you may recall that Adrian and I did the three Peaks Challenge with a Team of intrepid NMC fundraisers and supporters  last August. We raised in the region of of £5000 ! A great effort considering the weather conditions, but NEVER AGAIN!!

Until . . . . . . . .  . . this year!

This years challenge, in September,  is a sponsored bike ride from Coast to Coast; Whitehaven in the Lake District  to Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire. A team of 8 NMC cyclists will attempt  a total of 220 miles in 4 days. Yes I am mad, but you already knew that!

So, I ve cut back on my running and donned a ridiculous pair of rather unattractive padded cycling shorts, and in the words of Norman Tebit, " got on my bike!" I've slowly been cranking up the milage and have done a 30 miler as part of training but as we will have to do approximately 40 to 60 miles a day, I've got a way to go,especially as we plan to go over Honister Pass!

It would really spur me on and help training if you would be kind enough to sponsor me for this event, and of course you d be supporting a wonderful charity. You can either sponsor me a lump sum  on completion of the route or per mile

e.g :    20p per mile=£44    10p per mile=£22       5p per mile=£11

Thankyou in anticipation and pray for good weather in september .

Love Anna x

Meanwhile its back to my bike and those shorts, Oooh the chaffing, vaseline anyone!
