Brentwood Half Marathon 2014 · 23 March 2014 ·

Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

I am running the Brentwood Half Marathon as part of a team 'Lily's Legends' to help raise awareness of Neuroblastoma after my friend's niece, a beautiful little girl Lily who's 20 months old, was diagnosed.
Please sponsor me if you are able to and help us make as much money as we can for the Neuroblastoma Society.

About Lily:
Lily was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma when she was 20 months old in August 2013. It is a rare, aggressive type of cancer, affecting only 100 children a year in the UK and early detection is paramount to successful treatment. Symptoms are similar to many common childhood illnesses which means it is often misdiagnosed. It was the persistence of Lily's parents with the doctors that has literally saved Lily's life; it has hopefully been caught early enough to treat successfully. By running the marathon we are hoping to raise awareness of this awful disease. If we can enable just one parent to catch it early and save their child's life, then something good can come out of everything brave Lily, her parents, siblings, grandparents and the rest of her family have endured.
