UPD: Thank you very much for your fantastic support! I had a wonderful day and successfully completed my first marathon with a reasonable time of 5:43. It feels like I've got a running bug now, so will be doing another marathon in future trying to get my time under 5 hours!

After many unsuccessful attempts finally I managed to get a place in London marathon, hurray! They never said magic overnight running fitness is not included in the package, what a surprise! So over the last few months I had to do a lot of running, including early mornings, late nights and ploughing through snow mid-April. Hopefully it will be enough to get me around in more or less one piece as it’s my main goal for the first marathon.

But let’s be realistic about it: it will be a few hours of pain and suffering, and hopefully I will get a big shiny medal at the end and a bear hug from а giant Panda! I guess I am lucky enough not to run in a Panda suit, may be next time! Still, there are a lot of Pandas and other wild animals, which need protection so all your generous donation will be used for good causes.

WWF fundraising page says “Panda made me do it”, but being completely honest, I am running for the big cats! Go kitties, make us roar!
