Story

Hi everyone,

Yeah, yeah it's crazy, probably the most craziest thing I will ever do and possibly the last!!  But it's been an ambition of mine for a while and hey you gotta try everything once right?

So today I am asking you to please dig deep and sponsor me for next year's
LONDON MARATHON!!

I have secured a charity place running for The Neurofibromatosis Association -  a charity extremely close to my heart as Neurofibromatosis is the genetic condition which affects mainly the nervous system and skin that both my Father and I have.  We have type 2 (NF2) which develops tumours typically in the brain and spine, which has resulted in my Father losing all his hearing in his early 30s having undergone major surgery and having to adapt to living with deafness and further surgery to remove more tumours.

I was diagnosed 6 years ago and although my condition was monitored annually with MRI scans and hearing tests, after losing my hearing in my right ear 2008 saw me having to undergo brain surgery to remove 3 tumours on my right hearing nerve.  It is inevitable that I will lose the hearing on the left side too at some stage.

The Neurofibromatosis Association is the UK's authoritative voice on the condition.  Formed in 1982 they have been leading the way in the support of those with the condition for over 25 years.  For those of you wishing for more info on their work or neurofibromatosis please visite their website:  www.nfauk.org.

I hope you will all support me in this huge challenge, bearing in mind I have possibly the shortest legs so it will feel like I've actually run it twice!

I look forward to seeing my sister waiting for me at the finish line with a well earned mars bar and glass of bubbly!.....and anyone else that wishes to show their support and carry me home!!

Please feel free to pass this on to everyone you know.

Thank you for your support,  lots of love Anna xxx
