I am working on the hospital ship Africa Mercy based in Sierra Leone during 2011 as the rehabilitation coordinator. This job involves working as a physiotherapist, mostly with the orthopaedic team, working, for example, with club feet to non-union fractures from trauma. I will also be mentoring the rehabilitation team and acting as the lead for the therapies onboard the boat. This will be a challenge, but I feel ready to step up to this. 

I have always said that I was going to do mission work in Africa since I was little, as I wanted to follow in the steps of my Grandparents and my Mum. I think that my Mum would have wanted to come with me if she was still alive, and I know she is coming with me on this journey.
