August 2012, I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the charity Practical Action.

Practical Action is a registered charity which uses technology to challenge poverty, working with poor men and women around the world. They work alongside communities to find practical solutions to the poverty they face, using various forms of technology to support this, including; physical infrastructure, machinery and equipment, knowledge and skills.

 

Standing at 5,895 metres, Mount Kilimanjaro is the largest free-standing mountain in Africa. My challenge is to reach the summit! I am very excited for the challenge - it'll put my D of E skills to the test that's for sure!
