We are running the Woman's Trust 10k on Sunday 3rd October to raise money for this great charity which does very good work and needs more people to support it.

Woman’s Trust provides counselling and advocacy services to help women affected by domestic violence and abuse. Two women in the UK every week are killed by their partners. One in four women has been affected by domestic violence. It is the most common cause of depression and other mental health difficulties in women. And its effects are felt by children and whole families. Woman’s Trust is urgently raising funds in order to be able to continue and extend the work it does with affected women.

About the charity:

"The Woman’s Trust is a registered charity (registered no. 1053117) providing independent, confidential, women-only services to women who have been or are affected by domestic violence in London and the local area. We also provide training for workers in the public sector and voluntary sector who work with women and children who are affected by domestic violence, such as housing, social services, children’s services and health professionals.

Our Ethos

Providing client-led services is central to our ethos.

Women who use our services have a role in deciding and approving developments and changes to services. All staff and volunteers use a consultative approach with women on all aspects of our work. Being able and committed to delivering services in this way is essential for staff and volunteers working at Woman’s Trust.

This method of working ensures that services are appropriate to the real needs of women affected by domestic violence.

Our Aims

Woman’s Trust aims are to provide mental health, support and advocacy services which empower women affected by domestic violence to make positive choices in their lives and live free from violence and abuse.

As well as doing what our name says, providing someone whom women can trust, we:

  • recognise a woman’s primary need for emotional support
  • are here to support women in making healthy life choices
  • positively challenge, helping women to look at their situation differently.
