Walk the West Highland Way · 28 May 2016

Glencoe Mountain Rescue has been providing a free rescue service in the Glencoe area since 1961. Run entirely by volunteers and hugely reliant on donations for funding, the rescue service extends to mountains, rivers, lochs, caves and the sea across North Argyll and on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

Story

Myself and 11 friends are walking the 96 miles of the West Highland Way as a personal challenge and also to raise money for Glencoe Mountain Rescue.  I am Secretary of the Pre'65 Scottish Motorcycle Trial which takes place in Kinlochleven  every year and we have had to use the services of Glencoe Mountain Rescue several times to rescue riders from the course due to injury.  I would love to give something back to them for their help and hope that the trials community as well as others will support my efforts by donating to this very worthy cause.  Your support and encouragement means so much to me and will drive me on when I am tired and my feet are sore but hopefully not blistered!!
