Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

Myself, Lisa Gunn, Pauline Davies, Rosalind Gibson, Lisa Tinney, Julie McGavin, Brenda Gallgher and Karen Walker have joined together to raise money for MacMillian cancer charity.

My mum fought and overcame  lymphoma and breast cancer for over 17 years amoungst other illnesses. Sadly on the 8th Feb this year she was diagnosed with Leukemia and died on the 9th April. It is hard to believe she is gone, someone who was so full of life. Her fight against her illnesses was a credit to her. She never gave up the hope of finding a cure, for herself and others fighting cancer.

We had decided to run this race, before my mum passed away and I know she will be proud of us all. MacMillian was going to be the charity providing the care she needed. They do so much for people who are living with cancer, who for sadly, there is no cure. MacMillian are a vital support for these people. For more information please visit MacMillian cancer web page.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Anne-Marie.
