Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This August, I'm cycling from Land's End to John o'Groats - about 1,200 miles on minor roads. Just to give you an idea, imagine pedalling on an exercise cycle in the gym for 6 hours a day, 7 days a week, for three weeks! (but with great scenery).
My friend Jan McTaggart is doing the Cornwall/Devon bit with me ( supposedly the toughest- all those hills) and leaving me at Bristol. From then on, it's turn left and keep heading north, just me and a compass through some of the remotest parts of Britain. I'm not sure if I'm more scared or excited. Will the knees hold out? Will the bike hold out? Will I go round in circles?
I chose Sara Lee Trust when two Macmillan nurses told me how much it truly benefits people living with cancer, motor neurone disease and HIV/Aids. I wanted to support a small charity where the money would go directly to helping someone. SLT provides 2,500 treatments each year of complementary therapies, sanctuary days, counselling and creative arts therapies, free of charge. So please - if you can - take this opportunity to support them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never send them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure GiftAid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it's the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
