After seven years working at NDCS I decided it was time I actually raised some money and so I am taking part in our Cycle India trip in November 2005. Starting at the Taj Mahal at dawn I will then be cycling hard for 6 days across rough, potholed roads through villages and towns of Rajasthan until we reach Pushkar. At Pushkar I will gratefully trade my bike in for a camel who will then take me to the world famous Pushkar Camel Fair.
As those who know me well will testify, cycling is not my strength, however my training programme is now underway and I'm exploring the hills of Hertfordshire every weekend. Still slightly slower than a camel but with two months to go hope to end up giving them a run for their money!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The National Deaf Children's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. I have also put in £500 myself towards the cost of the trip.
