Hello Everyone! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit Net and Jez's Big Jump JustGiving page.
In a moment of madness, I decided to take the plunge and sign up for a skydive on Saturday, July 18th in the flat lands of Cambridgeshire. I've tried not to think about it in too much detail and brave it out.. 'hey, what's a little jump from a plane, anyway?!', but as the day gets closer, the jitters are definitely increasing. There willl no doubt be one big 'bleep!' on the way down!
Yes, it will be a terrifying as well as an incredible experience, but I'm doing it to raise as many funds as possible for The Alzheimer's Society....
As some of you may know, my family has been significantly affected by this really awful disease. My Mum was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and although she is comfortable and has a high standard of care at all times, I can't begin to describe the change and impact this has had on her as well as every single member of her family and friends. And this is just my family. I have friends who are going through the same thing with the people they love; there are thousands more stories and this problem is just not going to go away. The work of organisations like The Alzheimer's Society is crucial for the continuing research and understanding of the disease as well as support to those whom it affects.
I'm really lucky to be accompanied by my friend, Jez, who guarantees that his 'bleep!' will be just as loud as mine. If you still haven't been convinced to donate, Jez tells me that enough donations may persaude him to wear a comedy skydive outfit.. all suggestions welcome.. so please dig deep and donate now!!
