Story
On the 30th of August 2013, i am holding my own family fun day at Birkenhead Rugby Club (local pub) for the charity Papyrus. (Prevention of young person suicide)
I decided to hold a charity event and raise money for this charity as there are many families locally that have been effected by suicide, and many cases that go unheard of.
I think that it is important to raise awareness of this charity as it isnt very well known. It is important to target young people as there is so much more pressure that is upon young people than past years.
By holding this charity event i would also like to reduce the stigma that is invloved with suicide to help make it easier for families that do have to go through this experience, it should not be made hidden or not thought of because if people who are going through a hard time and wanting to speak to someone there are many different charities such as papyrus that can help and prevent suicide occuring, this is why it is important to raise awareness and the stigma.
So from my charity family fun day i would like to create memories for the local community, reduce stigma, raise awarness of young suicide and donate money to my charity Papyrus.
