This JustGiving page is set up to raise money for Anno's Africa - a charity arts school. It was established (and is now run) by Bee Gilbert in memory of her son Anno Birkin - an English poet/musician who was killed age 20. In 2007, Anno's family published his words and music and used the profits to set up Anno's Africa. This charity offers an alternative, arts education to orphans and vulnerable children in some of Africa’s most desperately deprived city slums. This is not only for children to discover their talents and get chances at full careers, but it also allows them to learn to express themselves and share their wonder (as Anno was able to do). While many will grow up and go on to work and teach others, a number won't make it. For them the charity matters most, for as Anno and his family always believed, it's not the quanity of life that matters, but the quality.

The charity is in great action now and continuing to grow...
