Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

Hi everyone!

As some of you will be aware, my father lost his fight against cancer in April 2009.  He was incredibally brave and showed me what a strong man he was. Those of you who have seen a dearly loved one cut down by this dispicable desease, will understand how important it is to help those charities that do some wonderful work. For me, Willen Hospice were fantastic. Although my dad never went to the hospice, the support of the nurses daily visits were amazing. Undoubtedly these people are simply fantastic.

Shortly after my fathers funeral, with emotions running high a lot of crazy promises were made (mainly by me), and those of you that know me well, know I am not one to go back on my word.  So , here i am......  on the 25th April this year I will be running the Virgin London Marathon. (yikes!) For those of you who just laughed (I definately would have!!!) I no longer smoke, I no longer drink, I do not eat unhealthy food and for those of you who live near to me, you might have seen me running around in all weather like a idiot!!!

Please be generous and donate what ever you can. I dont want to give myself a target amount, as I would like to raise as much as I possibly can.  Most people will have had family member or know someone whose lives have been touched my the wonderful people at Willen Hospice. Its time to give something back.
