Great Notts Bike Ride - 48 Mile Challenge · 15 July 2012

Heart Link, was originally formed as a support group for parents and families who have a child suffering from a heart defect. Since 1981 we have collected over £4 million pounds. This has been used to fund projects large and small. Thank you for supporting us!

Story

Me and my good mate Chris are completing a 48 mile bike ride as part of the Great Notts Bike Ride and are using it as an opportunity to raise money for an absolutely excellent and worthwhile cause...Heart Link.

As some of you may know in August last year my little nephew Freddie was born 8 weeks premature which whilst difficult enough was combined with him being diagnosed with a congenital heart disease. At 1 month old he had to undergo major heart surgery and spent a long time in Glenfield Hospital which specialises in managing heart difficulties.

I am very glad to say that due to the great work of the doctors and nurses at Glenfield combined with the superhuman support of his mummy, daddy and the rest of his family, Freddie recovered from his early trauma and is now thriving as a cheeky little chappy.

Heart Link provides a lot of the equipment to Glenfield and provides support to the families during the most difficult of times so any sponsorship received would be greatly appreciated.
