Story
As an Arsenal supporter for over 60 years I’m very proud of the work carried out by the Arsenal Foundation.
The Arsenal Foundation has co-developed in partnership with Save the Children the groundbreaking Coaching for Life programme which utilises football to improve the mental well-being of children affected by conflict and violence.
In Indonesia Coaching for Life is working with children living in dense urban slums where many are at risk of extreme hunger, exploitation and child marriage. In Jordan the project is working with Syrian refugee children whose lives have been torn apart by the ongoing conflict over there. The programme aims to reach 4,500 boys and girls aged between 12 and 18.
Along with Arsenal legends David Seaman and Per Mertesacker and other Arsenal fans, I’ll be trekking for 10 hours a day for four days in 30 degree heat through the mountainous and desert terrain of the Jordan trail in support of this cause. Everyone is funding their own trip so all donations will support the project.
Any donations will be most welcome and thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
March 8th 2020
Due to the escalating Corona virus situation world-wide, the Arsenal Foundation have been forced to postpone the Jordan Trail challenge until March next year. At this stage I am not sure that I will be able to participate next year.
I would like to thank all my sponsors for their extremely generous support for this very worthy cause.
